Stanley Jr.

Project Overview

As part of my work at BRN I was requested to design a responsive website for STANLEY Jr which is a subsidiary of the global STANLEY corporate.

My role included understanding the product needs and creating a unique visual language which is also consistent with the parent company. The target market is kids ages 3-12 and their parents. At the end of the design process I presented 2 homepage drafts, from which he chose 1 to proceed with.

Brand Story

The STANLEY brand has been on the belt and in the hands of professionals for more than 170 years. The high-quality line of STANLEY Jr. kid-sized tools and creative DIY projects have been developed to inspire the future generations of builders. Parents and children can craft special memories together while exploring how tools are used and building projects they can be proud of.

Information Architecture

The architecture of the website is defined based on customer requirements. It allows me to approve my solution with the customer before starting the design of the actual pages.

Kid Sized Tools

In order to make the site search more effective, I have added tags to filter the results. Users can narrow down the results by: age, gender, color, price and category. This allows for better matching of a user’s intent by breaking down and interpreting the semantics of their queries rather than performing simple text matching.

Candy Maze Kit

Studies show that the average customer is willing to spend 31% more on a retailer that has excellent reviews. Thereby, I have designed a customer review section on the product page.

Engaging the Customers

The blog is an additional place where visuals can be used to engage the clients. A quick video of how to assemble a product, different methods of using a product, or photos and videos that are non-product related, yet relevant to the target audience can be posted. Generally, the posts will give ideas for creating a reacher experience in utilizing the products for both parents and children.
